Job Summary

The Mid-Level Cybersecurity R&D Researcher researches emerging cyber threats, attack techniques, and security technologies to enhance the organization's cybersecurity capabilities. The role transforms research into practical outcomes through PoCs, Detection Engineering, technical documentation, and actionable security recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Research emerging threats, vulnerabilities, attack techniques, and threat actors.
• Evaluate anti phishing security tools, technologies, and frameworks.
• Design and validate proof of concepts (PoCs).
• Analyze malware, phishing campaigns, CVEs, and threat intelligence.
• Develop technical documentation and security recommendations.
• Build and maintain detection logic, use cases for our anti phishing solution.
• Map detections to MITRE ATT&CK and improve detection coverage.
• Collaborate with Engineering, MSS.
• Stay current with MITRE ATT&CK.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in Cybersecurity, Security Research, Threat Intelligence, Detection Engineering, or SOC.
• Strong knowledge of Networking and Windows/Linux operating systems.
• Experience with Sigma, YARA.
• Experience with Detection Engineering, SIEM and Threat Intelligence.
• Proficiency in Python; familiarity with PowerShell and Bash.
• Strong understanding of MITRE ATT&CK and detection development.
• Excellent analytical, research, and technical writing skills.

Preferred Certifications

• Certifications such as GCTI, CTIA, CCTHP, GREM, or GCFA.
• Experience with malware analysis, reverse engineering, or digital forensics.
• Familiarity with Ghidra, IDA Pro, x64dbg.
